About Us

After spending the last 10 years savoring her role as a stay at home mom to two amazing children, Mindy is currently pursuing a dual masters degree in Special Education and Childhood Education.  When she is not in the classroom, Mindy devotes time to serving the Rye Neck School District's PTSA as the Advocacy Chair. In addition to creating innovative ways to better communicate with Rye Neck Families, Mindy has worked to create the Rye Neck Student Leadership and Advocacy Conference impacting students across Westchester and Putnam counties.  She has also been named the Westchester- Eastern Putnam Region PTA Assistant Director for the North. In both of these roles, Mindy actively lifts of positive educational initiatives as well as putting forth reasonable suggestions for change where it is needed. In her free time, Mindy treasures time with family and friends, time with nature and playing sports.

EJ Flynn is an author, mother, educator and cancer survivor.  She teaches writing, business, and marketing at SUNY Purchase and professional skills to at-risk youth throughout the Tri-State area. She has three published novels and is the proud mother of her dynamic and incredibly talented daughter, Abigail Flynn, a 7th Grader at the Rye Neck Middle School.

EJ is so proud and excited to be part of the PTSA Advocacy Team and all the amazing programs planned.  She is very much looking forward to teaching the Communication Station after school program coming in October and The First Annual PTSA Student Leadership and Advocacy Conference in November.

Mindy and EJ have joined forces to build the PTSA Advocacy Committee.  We want this to be a true platform for our schools, students, teachers, administration and our community to raise up and celebrate the good and make reasonable suggestions for change with actionable solutions.

We want to give our students a voice and every opportunity to be heard about the topics that mean something to them.

We want our community to be engaged and informed of all the wonderful things going on at our schools.

Through Communication Station and our First Annual PTSA Student Leadership and Advocacy Conference we will be doing just that.

If you have any questions, suggestions or want to get involved, please feel free to contact us anytime.

Here's to an amazing school year!
